My FINAL final and the ensuing celebration

Well, I'm really and truly FINISHED with school. Wow, I doubted many times over the last two years that this day would ever come!! Even when I "graduated", I still wasn't really finished.

But alas, I wrapped up my summer school class on Saturday and I am home freeeee! One of my girlfriends hosted a cookout at her family farm on Sunday afternoon so that we could celebrate being really and truly DONE!!

The cake I made:
(Very summery, don't you think?!) Drew and Steve, hangin on the porch:
David, the man of the house and our chef with Allen Clare, the hostess with the mostess!
Allen Clare and her sweeet Mama: Charity with all the proud hubby's!
The mobile drink cart (what a good idea!):
Eating, talking...and more eating!
You said WHAT?!
Going to visit all the horsies:
Tristan was enjoying himself immensely - isn't he cute?!

Okay, these horses names? Paris and Nicole. Very high maintenance young girls =

Livin' the simple life on the farm...

Yay! What fun! Thanks to Allen Clare and her family!

No. more. school. EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Aaaah, the sweetness of summer...

Remember this picture from last summer?THAT is my favorite summer meal - and Steve surprised me last year by picking it up at a roadside stand (the best way!). Well, he's done it again! He is the best, and this year, he topped off the whole summer meal experience with adding my favorite fruit, too!
We made a big mess, but it was soooo good!
Are we too silly for our own good? ;)

We are looking forward to sunny days at the pool in the months to come! :) Happy first day of summer!

We're baaaack!!

Best. Vacation. Ever.

This trip to Mexico was truly a vacation, as we define it. Wanna know what we did all week?!!!

N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!!

Yep, and THAT, to us, is a great vacation. No busyness, no activities, no hurry, no worry about what time it is, no pressure, no phone calls, no homework, and no demands on our time...what a treat!!! We slept late, lounged by the pool, read books, ate lots of yummy food and watched the sunsets. Truly, that's it. For six glorious days. And it was the BEST vacation we've EVER had!!
(I know some of you must be squeamish..."Eeeeks, weren't you bored?!"....Answer: ABSOLUTELY not!! We loved every minute of it!! ;)

Our dining room for six days:

The view from our "dining room" (our deck):

The magnificent view, continued....

Nap time on the beach!
Steve in the pool (he's in the middle by the waterfall!):
Yay! We love Mexico!Horsies!!
And nothing beats the waves on the beach and a sun setting behind the mountains....
GORGEOUS!!

...and soooo peaceful....

Thanks, Mom!
