A teeny, tiny snow! Reason to celebrate!

Last week, we awoke to a little teeny snow. Exciting!!

You know what that means....!!
Joshua was very official getting the fireplace ready for a picnic and snuggles by the fire:
Hot chocolate and popcorn! (And a fire that wouldn't stay on because it was so warm, lol)
Too cute, these two.

Did I mention...?

Daddy getting her up from naps = wacky hair-do's!

Steve: "What? She said she wanted two hair bows."

LOL.

Building a house for his friend, so sweet!

"This house is for Laura, Mama."

How thoughtful! He's such a sweet little one. ;)

ABC's, wow!

I leave him alone for a few minutes and this is what I come back to!!

All in the right order, too!

We are missing the "V", and later that day, as he was reciting the alphabet he skipped the "V". I inquired as to why he skipped the "V" and he replied matter-of-factly:

"Oh, because we don't have that letter in our home."

LOL!
We're so proud of you, little man!

The new hit in our home...

This tent from YaYa is all the rage in the McMurray home!

They love to fill it with blankets and pillows and toys and "snuggle together!".

And apparently Daddy, too...Too cute!

Happy Clementine's Day!

(What I awoke to this morning...I LOVE my man!! ;)

Happy Clementine's Day...???

Huh?

Exactly.

Natalie's little friend gave her a Valentine card the other night, and on the way home in the car, I was explaining to the kids that Valentine's Day was a holiday coming up.

Joshua pipes up from the back:

"So is that what they do when all the bananas are gone?"

Steve and I glance at each other. Huh?

Me: "What do you mean, sweetie?"

Joshua: "You know, do they have Clementine's day when all the bananas are gone?"

Steve is rolling laughing and I still don't get it.

Through his laughter, Steve reminds me that we give the kids bananas for breakfast until we're all out, then they get clementines...so when I was explaining "valentine", the only context for what Joshua thought he heard was "clementine".

Ah yes, they have Clementine's day when all the bananas are gone!!

(Perfect four-year-old logic)

Okay, I got it then and we all had a good laugh. It's so cute how they associate words with what they do know when they don't understand something. LOL!!!

So...from the McMurray family,

Happy Clementine's Day!!! :)

Purging. What a mess.

It's been many years of accumulating S-T-U-F-F and very little cleaning out.

At the inspiration of several friends, I decided the time had come to open the scary overflowing closets stuffed to the brim and PURGE!!!

I designated twelve areas and here, I am embarassed to say, are the discarded contents of only three of them...

Scary. But so great!

February Nic-nics?! Yessss!

It really was that warm...bare feet and all!

Giggles.

"Hear, my children,

...the instruction of a Father, and give attention to know understanding..."

"For I give you good doctrine:

Do not forsake my law.

When I was my father’s son,

Tender and the only one in the sight of my mother,

He also taught me, and said to me:

“ Let your heart retain my words;

Keep my commands, and live.

Get wisdom! Get understanding!

Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.

Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;

Love her, and she will keep you.

Wisdom is the principal thing;

Therefore get wisdom.

And in all your getting, get understanding.

Exalt her, and she will promote you;

She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.

She will place on your head an ornament of grace;

A crown of glory she will deliver to you.”

Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,

And the years of your life will be many.

I have taught you in the way of wisdom;

I have led you in right paths.

When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,

And when you run, you will not stumble.

Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go;

Keep her, for she is your life."

-Proverbs 4:1-13

God's promises are so, so sweet!

I love that my son and daughter will remember, every single day of their life in our home, that their father loved them enough to invest true wisdom into their heart and soul.

There is no greater love than that of a father, of the Father!

Uncle Sam and Aunt Miri :)

So really...this is how I remember Uncle Sam and Aunt Miriam...before they were an Aunt & Uncle, to say the least! Fast forward seventeen-or-so years, and here they are with my little guys!
We were so happy to have them come over and play with the munchkins!
We headed to a local park for some big fun!

Cuteness...

(I think they're still kids at heart!;)

The static do:

Talking on the phone to our Nana for her 90th birthday!!
