The trip, part 2

Okay, so really it's just more of that parental indulgence thing. I mean, isn't that what this blog is really about anyway?! :)
Natalie makes the FUNNIEST faces ever.
I thought I'd share what a typical breakfast entails by way of expressions from her.

The jacuzzi tub was a HIT!

Morning snuggles with daddy!

Our first jaunt to town. Natalie was making a serious fashion statement with her pink socks and her brother's old tennis shoes. Clearly, we're very into stylish-ness.
We were completely diverted from our mission to head to town by the fire station, though! The firemen were so kind and gave us all kids of tours and free "fireman" stuff, which Joshua loved. It was great.

Daddy daughter sweetness!
More Juan-nibbles!
She luvs to hold hands and walk with her daddy!
And someone surprised mommy with a birthday cake from the Cheesecake Factory!! Hmmm...I wonder which wonderful husband THAT could be?!

Singing "Happy Birthday!"
We all enjoyed the cake...needless to say... ;)
Are they the cutest, or what?!
More to come!

The trip, part 1: the travel, day 1, and a little parental indulgence ;)

So our little family packed up and headed to beautiful Harper's Ferry, WV, for our birthdays... Isn't it gorgeous?!
(I totally stole these pictures from the internet, because I couldn't do the views justice. Though I tried. More on that later.)

Packing up & heading out:
We used our DVD player for the first time ever for the last hour of the trip. Joshua is so not used to watching TV though, that he didn't really like it and wanted to be "ALL DONE, PLEASE?"
We rented a little cabin in the mountains, it was so cute!! And it had a full kitchen, which was nice so we didn't have to eat out every day.
Daddy heading to a meeting in DC:
Silly faces!
Happy birthday, Daddy!

Okay, so here's our little parental indulgence.

We just love our kids and think they are so cute...so, the rest of this post is just adorable pictures of them having fun playing together in the little yard of the cottage. We can't resist!

"Who me? Cute?"

A BIG YARD!

They loved the "crunch-crunch-crunch" of the fall leaves!

Silly.Absolutely adorable.
And this one! Caught in the act. Eating leaves.
This gal tries to eat EVERYTHING.

Pure. Childhood. Bliss.

More trip pictures soon!

Did I say only 300 pictures?

I meant more like 3,000! Well, at least it seems that way. LOL. There was so much beauty, I could barely capture it all! But I'm working on wading through them all. :) Be back soon!

We're baaaaack!

Did you notice we were gone? ;) We didn't either. It was kind of a last minute thing!

Anyway, we took a birthday-family-vacation for nearly a week (our first full-family trip together in a year!) and we have arrived home happily and safely. We're buried under mountains of laundry and emails. Will post lots of pictures soon! Here's one hint for ya...

(The best picture -and activity- from the whole trip!)

And no travel would be complete without a stop at our favorite restaurant in the whole world. We sure do miss you, CalTort. We've got to sort through 300-or-so pictures from our wild adventures...whoa!

It was such a blast, can't wait to share!! :)

See ya next week!
