Firewood & Floods...oooh, whatta week!

First up, my HARD WORKING kiddos!!

They loaded and unloaded firewood for two FULL days this week and are such a blessing to all of us that want to keep warm this winter!  ;)

The hunters were coming to cut new firewood to season for the winter, so we had to get the first load out of the way.  

They did a great job!

 It was quite an operation!

 Tough & Lovely...that's our girl!! 

 Oh, ok, so yes, they had a little fun too...🤣🤣🤣

 And then...there was THE FLOOD....

 I mean, for REAL...

 I was so impressed with how this all went down...I was panicking and the kids were so cheerful and just got right to work helping me clean it up.  AH-MAZING character that puts me to shame, LOL! 

 Fun, fun...always check the washer hook ups after the painters leave and have pulled out the washer...HINT: they may have knocked it loose and it's a ticking time bomb as to when it will spray the walls and flood the floor!!!  😏

Firewood PART 2...the hunters came and chopped firewood this weekend and Joshua was out there like a big man!  We are so proud of him!  He even got to keep the copperhead that they found and killed in the wood pile...🐍🐍🐍

FOOD! Strawberries, Picnics & Waffles & Bacon...yummmm!

 It's been a yummy week around here!!

Have you EVER seen such a breakfast for an eleven & four year old?! 

Eggs, bacon, cinnamon-sugar toast, blueberry muffins, sausage, blueberries & strawberries...whew!

 If I got something like this growing up, it was because it was a holiday or some special celebration.

I guess we're just celebrating life around here?!  

 Daddy delights us with LOADS of strawberries when they come in season!!!

 James cannot get enough...strawberries are his FAVORITE!!! 

 Well, everybody's favorite...;)

 Spring is also THE SEASON for picnics!!  We've been enjoying the cool mountain breezes and eating outside nearly everyday!

 We even brought our pizza dinner outside to eat with Daddy, who has been diligently working on the Excavator this week!  

 Friday night was great too...Mama had some extra energy and surprised everyone with bacon and waffles before movie night!  Yummmm!

James starts BIG BOY school!!

He was SO EXCITED to start "Big Boy School" this week...it is Pre-K4 and it is so cute and fun!!

The theme for this curriculum is "Chester & Friends" (a chipmunk), so we found a chipmunk mask to start everything off right...🤣

The first day of school they had us make "Chipmunk Treats" and it was so, so cute!

 It's only 50 minutes/4 days a week, but it is so good and we are having such a great time doing so many fun things (that I may not otherwise do with him, if I'm honest)!  

We still do all sorts of reading and activities outside of this, but it helps keep me accountable to cover my bases with him to make sure he is learning all that he can!

Each day we have different activities: snacks, crafts, puppet play, colors/letters/numbers, games, story time and exercise...

 This day we made puppets and put on the "Three Billy Goats Gruff" play! 

 Exercise time! So fun!
