Superdad alert!

I mean, what more could Joshua ask for?

He has a wonderful daddy that
feeds him...
Bathes him...
And even has his friends over to play!

And then...this is how I find him...

Who needs a babysitter when you've got Steve?!

;) Whatta great dad ;)

Joshua is two weeks old today! Where has he been hiding?!

Alas, we are finally posting again...We know, we know - it's been so long, but Joshua has been otherwise occupied with grandparents galore!

We've had many visitors this past week including Joshua's Grandpa, Grandma J, Uncle Sam, Aunt Miriam and Ya-Ya. We are hoping to see his other grandparents and numerous other aunts and uncles soon, too!!

A recap of our last week:

Grandpa and Grandma J show Joshua the really important things in life...the crackberry...
Grandpa promises he will receive his own for his first birthday.
(We're thrilled. Really.) Proud Grandma J and Grandpa with Joshua
Uncle Sam and Aunt Miriam take a turn with the little guy!
They are a very entertaining pair... Joshua was captivated!
(Please excuse Joshua's clothe-less-ness...he changes frequently due to spit ups)
Happy Mama & Papa!!
A very proud Grandpa:
Taking a break from visitors to help daddy work:
(Doesn't Joshua look useful? He is an excellent supervisor.) Next up, Ya-Ya comes to visit!
And she cannot get enough of Joshua...
Snuggles!!

And...did I mention that my mommy LOVES this hat from my aunt Lisa?
I wear it every time I go out and I am sooooo cute!! ;)

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our WONDERFUL family and friends!!

Your emails, comments, visits and calls are so encouraging in these early days of parenting, and we so appreciate your love and support.

And, if you just can't get enough of Joshua (or Savannah's family!;), you're welcome to view dozens more pictures from this past week at:

The 1st of many firsts

My first trip to the doctor (I'm very healthy!):
And this is after my first bath at home!!
(Joshua is pictured with his baby nurse, Karlene)
VERY serious little man, isn't he?!
And this is not a first, but we had to show you his pouty face!!
Aren't I cute?!

Aaahhh...heading home!

This captures our trip from hospital to home:

Joshua is all ready!!
Steve = luggage cart
Quite a proud moment!
(they insist on the wheelchair...)
Last moments in the hospital:
Daddy with the big load

Home sweet home in my new bed!!
Don't I look tiny?!

Drum Roll Please...

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of:

JOSHUA MARK MCMURRAY

8lbs., 5oz.

We went into labor Thursday night and our sweet little man was born Friday morning - right on his due date (as Steve coached him for two weeks prior to do). After a busy weekend at the hospital, we are all home, safe and getting used to our new family!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! We will return phone calls and emails as we are able, but not at this time.

Here are some photos from our big day/weekend:

Thursday = Thinking outside the Bun

Yes, I agree. Yuk. The craving hit me unawares. But apparently, the good news is that the baby has cheap taste.

It's still Wednesday night...

...But a little later and with a little more excitement!

Fortunately, not having anything to do with us...but our burning apartment building.
Does the excitement ever end around here?

This is from my front row seat on the grass outside.

We had to evacuate the building in jammies!

Folks, it doesn't get any more exciting than this...I mean, can you tell?

Steve. is. thrilled.

Apparently, it was just a small fire in the trash chute. Nothing enough to send me into labor...

But it sure did cause nerves to shake, the neighbors to freak and a big stinky loud mess with lots of sirens and lights.

Anyway, off to bed. Check back for more exciting updates.

We'll gladly pass them along as they come.

It's Wednesday night...

...and YES, we're still pregnant!!

(in case you were wondering...)

Keep checking back ~ we'll keep you updated!

An update on THE UPDATE:

Greetings family and friends!

Thank you all so much for your sweet emails and phone calls! Your care and concern about our family and Mini-Mac is much appreciated.

We've discussed how best to let everyone know our exciting news after Mini-Mac makes his arrival, as we're quickly realizing that we can't possibly call everyone personally (as we can't even keep up with all the phone messages and emails checking on us right now!!...Sorry if you're waiting for a call back, we've been swamped and simply can't get back to everyone ;).

So, we've decided that he'll make his big debut on THE BLOG!!

Meaning: please check back often to find out our big news, as we will post the birth news and updates on Mini-Mac right HERE!!

We so appreciate your thoughts, prayers, emails and phone messages...and above all, many thanks in advance for checking the blog often to share in our news about the arrival of our bundle of joy!! ;)

Much love to you all,
Steve, Savannah & Mini-Mac

Cleanest mini-blinds on the block, baby!

Some call it "nesting", but my friend Lauren says:

"I call it insanity!"

Yep, I have found myself cleaning...and cleaning, and cleaning...things in our life and our home are only in two catagories these days: dirty or dirtier (And everything NEEDS to be cleaned. Thoroughly. Right now.)

I'm cleaning things I didn't even know should be cleaned! Who knew that light switches and electric socket panels and dresser knobs needed dusting?! (They do. I swear!) And yes, when I started cleaning the duster before I was finished dusting, and I KNEW I'd lost it....

Unfortunately, I don't know that we're "just before delivery"...but our house is getting clean, nonetheless!! ;)
