A funny evening with Joshua

For those that may be wondering - yes, indeed, our son does smile. Often. The only problem is that he KNOWS when the camera is aimed at him and he becomes so fascinated with it that he stops smiling. Immediately.

Therefore, we rarely catch him in the act.
But, the other night, he was having a giggling FIT!

And I am proud to say that I caught it on camera for you all to see.

WE LOVE OUR LITTLE CUTIE!!!

I'm so grown up!

A big boy in big boy clothes.
*Sigh*
They grow up SO FAST!!
We are loving our little guy so much more everyday!
He is such a blessing to us. ;)

Fun with Daddy

"He makes me laugh!!"

Why we don't dress our son in expensive outfits more often...

And, as-if-on-cue, not 2 seconds later...
TA-DA!! Barf-ola!
It never, ever fails!
LOL...hahaha...

Good blogging is only due to good help.

Hence, our secret weapon...

"Don't I look helpful?!"

A lovely spring day + laundry = a new play area? Apparently so...

It was lovely day outside yesterday, yet a little chilly, so we headed out to the porch to hang out...
It was so nice that I decided to fold the laundry outside too!

The only problem was that I couldn't carry everything back in at the same time. Being an overly protective first-time parent, I didn't want to leave Joshua outside alone, so I piled everything into the laundry basket to come inside...(including Joshua! How handy!)
He seemed quite content... "It's kinda cozy in here!"
So now he has a new play area! The laundry basket :)

Sweetness, captured...

Mother's day fun

My first Mother's day was very special...

I awoke to Joshua, card-in-hand: Daddy helped him "sign" it and hand it to me:
Then daddy helped Joshua make me breakfast "in bed"
(okay, so they intended to serve me in bed, but I had to get up to nurse, so it ended up being "breakfast on the couch"...but so sweet nonetheless!)

All my favorites: strawberries, blueberries and French toast! (Please excuse my lovely pj's-and-first-thing-in-the-morning looks...;)

And, best of all...big hugs for mama!!

Thanks so much to my two favorite guys in the whole world!

On funny things parenting has shown us about ourselves...

Okay, so I read one time that we take the ways that we are and naturally assume them "onto" our children.

Here's a great example.

Steve and I were getting Joshua ready for bed last night. I assume that he needs to go to bed fully "dressed" beneath his covers because surely, like me, he will get cold (I, for the record, sleep in a t-shirt + sweatshirt + flannel bottoms + socks, always). Steve, on the other hand, tells me that Joshua need only wear his Onesie to bed because surely, he will get hot during the night (Steve, for the record, sleeps in not such a full armor as I).

The following pictures are what came of this conversation...

The pants, in the end, ended up on Joshua's head instead of his bottom - that is - after a good laugh about how we were both "so sure" of his clothing needs - only due to our own personal preferences "assumed" onto our son!!

"HELP!! These people are crazy!"

We decided, after all, that the pants looked better on his head than his bottom!! ;)
Thank you, dear Joshua, for bearing with us as we learn YOUR needs, and strive to put those above our own, and put aside our, *ahem*, pride.

Joshua sits in his high chair for the first time...hmmm...

Though our blog is currently a mess of re-organization, I can't help but keep posting this little guy!!

He wasn't quite sure what to make of it.

We'll try it again later...

Pardon our construction...

Coming soon...our Spring blog template!!

Steve is hard at work on it and we'll be installing and updating soon. Please pardon our mess as we work on it for the next few days :)
