It's a date!

I love to take the McMunchkins for special dates sometimes, just to make memories...and, because they know mama and daddy have a special date every week, so they want in on the fun too! They beg for "dates" and I am happy to oblige!

Off we go!

It's fun to do school in a different place sometimes. And to give them a taste of making special memories!

We were so blessed a few weeks back to have some wonderful friends over for dinner. We had a big wild time after the meal was over...

Welcome to our outdoor kitchen!

Who knew we had such a fancy outdoor kitchen?!

I know of those grandiose places that have counter-tops and grills outdoors, but we are quite happy to "cook" right out on our little deck!

(Is it obvious yet that we're itching to get outside and take every opportunity possible to pretend that it's Spring???)

The best (and cutest) kitchen helpers ever!

Our little guys have been working hard in the kitchen lately. And they are so, so precious! I love when they help me - yes, it takes three times as long - but we focus on learning as we go, counting, measuring, following instruction and so forth, and enjoying the process...

As my friend Kami and I remind one another:

"Say 'yes!' to the mess!"

And no, we can't always, but "the mess" is usually where the most learning occurs, where the most fun is had, and where the most love is shared.

It was a super windy day, but oh-so-beautiful! We took school outside (and held our blanket down with some very handy fruit!)

(We could barely keep the blanket down, but we were bursting to get out in the sunshine!)

They LOVE when we make special drinks (smoothies) and say "Cheers!!"

(Somehow it makes them taste better, I think...and apparently, the louder you yell, the better it is too ;)
