Sharing the big news...

Yeah, so I'm a little excited...but hey, so is YaYa!!

Showing off Mini-Mac's first baby pictures:
YaYa explaining that "I ain't seen nothin' yet!"
Can you believe this?!
Grandpa with all his children:

Grandpa's whole clan (L to R) Dad, Ma, Gramps, Uncle SAM, Aunt Miriam, Grandma Janis, and (Great!) Nanny:

AND, much to our dis-credit, we were not organized enough to snap shots of sharing the news with Steve's awesome family, but trust us, there were plenty of squeals, hugs and even a few tears!

Sooooo exciting!! :)

My friends from middle and high school, Joel and Alice, got married this past weekend. The wedding was beautiful, but the bride was even more beautiful! I mean WOW!!

A few of our girls with the new MRS. Merritt - we lost a few of our other friends to the great band and dance floor!

Cutting the (delicious!!) cake
Congratulations to the Merritts!!!

I'm a little late, but...

I couldn't resist a little Summer decorating!!
Remember our kitchen wall with plates? I switched them out for these little vintage funky plates:
and I made this little arrangement with a vintage watering can that I found!

Yay, I'm such a dork! ;)

Happy 4th of July!

Our fantastic friends, David and Grace Verhey, brought us to David's work building in downtown DC for a very posh and delicious 4th of July celebration on the rooftop. We ate some awesome food, enjoyed our dear friends company and watched the fireworks on the national mall!

What fun!

All of that grey matter surrounding the monument is a SEA OF PEOPLE!! Wow.
Thankfully, we were not among them.
Getting ready for the show!
The first fireworks!
My personal favorite, the "jellyfish":
And most impressive? The smoke and the ashes that rained on us!
A good holiday indeed!! :)
