The CT trip, part 3!

Did we mention that our child LUVED Thalia the statue? Here he is, trying to converse with her yet again...to no avail...
Adventures in ball throwing with Nana & T'Aunt Amy

The CT trip, Part 2!

Joshua's Great-Nana had him all set up with his own special high-chair when we arrived:
AND she bought all of his favorite foods!
AND she cleaned up after him! Whatta lady!
Our wonderful Aunt Audrey had Joshua fixed up with everything else he needed - including a carseat and a bed...
And did he feel at home or what?! A CLOSET!!! What could be better for someone who already lives in a closet?!
He loved it and felt right at home:
Joshua, showing off his post-nap do:
Fluff-A-Saurus-Rex?
Trying out Mom & Dad's bed:
A big moment: Joshua meets Thalia...Nana's lovely statue from Italy, whom he quickly grew to love. And admire. And talk to (hourly). He even tried to play with her, but she never reciprocated his affection...
I'm not kidding. He really liked her. He just didn't understand why she would never respond when he threw the ball at her.
Nana tries to explain why she is certainly more fun to play with than Thalia the statue:
Watching the nightly news with Poppy:
Ooooh, and kisses from T'Aunt Amy!
More to come...!

The trip up to CT & Joshua's first plane ride!

Our family headed up to Connecticut this past weekend to visit Savannah's grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We had a wonderful time and took toooooo many pictures!! This trip will have to be broken up into several posts as we sort through the 400-some-odd pictures that we took ;) hehe.
It was also exciting because it was Joshua's first plane trip, which he handled very well!

In the airport waiting to board, munchin' on a bagel:
"Where are we?! Hmmm...this is very suspicious..."
"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?"

Relief and freedom to R-U-N after we got off the plane:
Waiting for our luggage and chasing Joshua:
Hide-n-seek with Daddy!
Did we mention that he was happy to be off the plane?

LOTS of giggles as we awaited our chauffer, Aunt Audrey, to pick us up!
Not to worry, there are PLENTY more pics to come as we have time to sort them out!
What a great trip!!

We're off to visit great Nana & Poppy!

Remember this: the first time Joshua had a chance to meet his great-grandparents - he was 7 weeks old, right around this time last year!
Nana is known to whisper to all of her grandbabies: "Now remember, Nana is your favorite!"
I think I caught her in the act that time:
I cannot believe it's been a whole year since this photo!

We're in for a treat as we head up to Hartford, CT for this special visit to Joshua's great-grandparents and lots of wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins!
See you next week with lots of pictures!

Some bathtime fun...

"Hmmm...can I make a break for it?..."

"I guess not. I'll just dive in, head first instead!"
"Whatcha lookin' at?"
"Waterfall, cool!"

"I can even spray water on the floor!! Fun!"

Valentine's day at our house ~ a yummy affair!

So, yeah...we're dorks. We go all out for Valentine's day!
Our front door:
The kitchen:
Our grumpy littlest valentine
(we're still getting over some sickness and teething!):
Mmmm...getting ready for dinner!
The Valentine's concoction: gingerale and cranberry juice!
A loving salad:
Steaks and homemade mashed potatoes
(and a strangely large bump consuming my V-day apron!)
And, our little Valentine decided to bless us by going to bed early and allowing us to have a wonderful quiet evening together! Who said teething is a bad thing?! (Okay, well...maybe just this one time it wasn't...)
Ahhh, and the real love...
We hope you had a great celebration too! :)

On tendrils, tears, and special visitors (not necessarily in that order)...

Hellooo all! We're back after a short blogging break. There's been lots of growth around here lately...that is, Joshua is growing lots of curls and FOUR teeth, all at the same time. Therefore, we've had LOTS of tears these past two weeks, but also lots of sleeping between whining...all of this to explain our lack of pictures and posting!
In other news, we have been able to get outside some, which has been lovely; AND, we had a very special visitor: Papa John, whom we haven't seen since Thanksgiving. Below is our measly record of the last two weeks!

A (rare) happy moment captured, enjoying the outdoors: Chatting at the sky...

Enjoying playing with our special visitor, Papa John!Playing with Papa John (who seems to have a penchant for seeing Joshua during teething times, sorry!)

And here are those CURLS I was mentioning...aren't they precious?!

But really folks, this has been our reality these last two weeks:

Translation: "MY GUMS HURRRRRT!!!"

LOL...somehow, he still manages to capture our hearts and make us laugh through these tough days!!! :) What a blessing this job of parenting is!
